Basketball Recap: Petrolia Takes a Loss

Petrolia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by the Seymour Panthers 70-25. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 53-25 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the defeat, Petrolia saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alyssa Lands posted four points and six boards.

Petrolia's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Seymour, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Petrolia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-40 defeat against Archer City on the 10th. As for Seymour, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-56 loss against Nocona on the 11th.
