Basketball Recap: West Lauderdale Gets the Win

West Lauderdale hadn't done well against Leake Central recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The West Lauderdale Knights narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Leake Central Gators 53-50. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Gators on January 3rd, they had to take a 89-59 loss.

West Lauderdale's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 11-10. As for Leake Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-12.

West Lauderdale will have a chance to go back-to-back against Leake Central: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
