Basketball Game Preview: Forbes Road vs. Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams

Forbes Road will square off against the Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Forbes Road is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Fannett Metal by a score of 50-42. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but Forbes Road was the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Turkeyfoot Valley Area took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 70-41 win over Shanksville Stonycreek. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Forbes Road better keep an eye on Bryce Nicholson. He was instrumental in Turkeyfoot Valley Area's win, almost dropping a double-double with 24 points and nine steals. Nicholson's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lance Jones, who posted 13 points and four steals.

Turkeyfoot Valley Area pushed their record up to 21-3 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.8 points over those games. As for Forbes Road, their record is now 18-4.

Forbes Road couldn't quite finish off Turkeyfoot Valley Area in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 and fell 54-51. Can Forbes Road avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
