Baseball Recap: Union Academy Takes a Loss

North Stanly hit Union Academy with a eight-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cardinals lost 13-3 to the Comets. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cardinals have suffered against the Comets since April 29, 2022.

Union Academy got a good showing from Brett Moore, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Moore has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Union Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Seth Sandock, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Union Academy dropped their record down to 9-15 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for North Stanly, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 24-0.

Union Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Stanly, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-1 defeat against South Stanly on the 1st.
