Basketball Recap: Dwight Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Dwight's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They snuck past the Lowpoint-Washburn Wildcats with a 51-47 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Trojans as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

When it comes to explaining why Lowpoint-Washburn lost, don't look at Kody Knecht. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards. Knecht has become a key player for Lowpoint-Washburn: the team is 10-4 when he posts at least ten rebounds, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jayden Burle, who posted nine points and three steals.

Dwight's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Lowpoint-Washburn, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lowpoint-Washburn beat Dwight by a score of 59-51 on Tuesday.
