Softball Recap: Haslett Takes a Loss

Haslett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the St. Johns Redwings, falling 16-10. Even though they lost, the Vikings' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.8 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Addison Leppek was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Savannah Frank, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Haslett's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for St. Johns, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Haslett will host Eastern at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Johns, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Lansing at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.6 runs per game on average), something the Redwings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
