Softball Recap: Taft's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Taft brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They walked away with a 15-10 victory over the Chavez Titans on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Rylee Owens, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-5. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaycee Edgar, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.

Owens wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Taft lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Taft's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Chavez, they moved to 4-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Taft will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Titans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
