Softball Game Preview: Bearden Bulldogs vs. Hardin Valley Academy Hawks

The Bearden Bulldogs will take on the Hardin Valley Academy Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bearden has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bearden is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost 13-2 to Farragut.

Bearden saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Megan Lawson, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Lawson also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Hardin Valley Academy sidestepped Lenoir City for a 4-3 victory. That's two games straight that the Hawks have won by just one run.

Bearden's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Hardin Valley Academy, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-16.

Bearden took their victory against Hardin Valley Academy when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 14-5 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
