Softball Recap: Mascoutah Comes Up Short

Mascoutah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 5-2 to the Columbia Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by exactly three runs.

Mascoutah saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kinze Reese, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Mascoutah's defeat dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Columbia, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.

Mascoutah and Columbia are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Indians will take on Mt. Vernon at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Columbia, they will face off against East Alton-Wood River at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
