Baseball Game Preview: Kerman Lions vs. Placer Hillmen

The Kerman Lions will face off against the Placer Hillmen at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Kerman 2.2, Placer 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Kerman saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They fell just short of Elk Grove by a score of 5-4.

Kerman saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Giovanni Gastelum, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Placer earned a 6-3 victory over Frontier on Tuesday.

Gavin Otis made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Otis was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, Placer let Kyler Foulke and Will Rogers run wild. Foulke scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Rogers scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Rogers a new career-high in RBI (two). Tanner Baldwin was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Kerman's loss dropped their record down to 10-7-1. As for Placer, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
