Basketball Game Preview: Gulf Breeze Dolphins vs. Pace Patriots

Gulf Breeze is 2-8 against Pace since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Gulf Breeze Dolphins will head out on the road to face off against the Pace Patriots at 6:30 p.m.

Gulf Breeze is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Thursday. They fell 59-47 to West Florida Baptist Academy. While losing is never fun, the Dolphins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 418th, while the Conquerors are ranked 84th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pace). They claimed a resounding 56-16 victory over Central. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Gulf Breeze's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Pace, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-4.

Gulf Breeze won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in February, slipping by Pace 58-57. Does Gulf Breeze have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pace turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
