Softball Recap: Ponder Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Ponder couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Gunter Tigers on Friday, falling 26-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Lions have suffered since April 4th.

Harlee Ponce was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kami Thorson, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Ponder and nudges their season record down to 14-7. As for Gunter, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 23-9.

While Ponder had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
