Football Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Gahr's Winning Streak + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Gahr can now relate to. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valley View Eagles on Friday. The Gladiators gained 61 more yards on the day, but it was the Eagles that made the best use of them.

When it comes to explaining why Gahr lost, don't look at Roman Acosta. Despite the final result, he threw for 146 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 48 yards and one score. Acosta's passing game has become a key predictor of the Gladiators' success: the team is 4-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 3-4 otherwise. Gahr also got a significant boost from Jaidyn Backus, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 82 yards.

Gahr moved to 7-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Valley View, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Gahr does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Valley View, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 28-21 victory against South Pasadena on the 21st.
