Football Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Gahr's Winning Streak + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Gahr can now relate to. They fell 28-21 to the Valley View Eagles on Friday. The Gladiators gained 59 more yards on the day, but it was the Eagles that made the best use of them.

Despite the loss, Gahr still got an impressive performance from Roman Acosta, who threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 48 yards and one score. Acosta's passing game has become a key predictor of the Gladiators' success: the team is 4-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 3-4 otherwise. Gahr also got a significant boost from Jaidyn Backus, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 82 yards.

Gahr moved to 7-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Valley View, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Gahr does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Valley View, they will square off against South Pasadena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
