Basketball Recap: Hamilton Takes a Loss

Hamilton lost against Princeton back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hamilton Big Blue were beaten by the Princeton Vikings 63-14. While losing is never fun, the Big Blue can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 400th, while the Vikings are ranked 45th).

Princeton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Erin Thomas, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 14 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mari Gerton, who went 7 for 15 on her way to 14 points.

Hamilton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Princeton, their record now sits at 7-5.

Hamilton has already played their next game, a 34-31 loss against Colerain on the 8th. As for Princeton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-43 defeat against Mason on the 8th.
