Basketball Recap: Murray County Comes Up Short

Murray County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. Their2024 ended with a 63-47 loss against the Seckinger Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 371st, while the Jaguars are ranked 78th).

Murray County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Seckinger, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-5 record.

Murray County will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Seckinger, they will take on Winder-Barrow at 3:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. One thing working in Seckinger's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
