Basketball Game Preview: Arete Prep CHARGERS vs. North Phoenix Preparatory Academy Gladiators

Arete Prep is 3-0 against North Phoenix Preparatory Academy since December of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Arete Prep CHARGERS will host the North Phoenix Preparatory Academy Gladiators at 7:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Arete Prep has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while North Phoenix Preparatory Academy will arrive with three straight wins.

Last Tuesday, Arete Prep was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 54-50 to Chandler Prep.

Arete Prep's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Harrison Kremer, who posted 25 points and four steals, and Crew Oetjen, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most points Kremer has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Tolu Jolaogun, who put up five points.

Meanwhile, North Phoenix Preparatory Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Patagonia on Tuesday, taking the game 53-43. That's two games straight that the Gladiators have won by exactly ten points.

North Phoenix Preparatory Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Arete Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Arete Prep beat North Phoenix Preparatory Academy 69-61 in their previous matchup back in December of 2019. Does Arete Prep have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Phoenix Preparatory Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
