Football Recap: Bear Creek Takes a Loss

After flying high against Weston Ranch last Friday, Bear Creek came back down to earth. The Bruins lost 42-19 to the Tokay Tigers on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bruins in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Bear Creek lost, don't look at Jeremiah Robertson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 62 yards and one TD, and also picked up 32 receiving yards.

Tokay had a senior duo take command as Amire Fleming gained 157 total yards and three touchdowns and Jayden Barba threw for 172 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes.

Bear Creek's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Tokay, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bear Creek will challenge rival Stagg at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Robertson and Darnell Holmes. Meanwhile, Tokay is set to take on their familiar foe Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
