Recap: Clairton Bears vs. Frazier Commodores

The Clairton Bears had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They breezed by Frazier at home to the tune of 50-6. The result was nothing new for Clairton, who have now won five matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.

Clairton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Drahcir Jones out in front who rushed for 99 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also picked up 40 receiving yards. Jones was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Donte Wright, who rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown.

Clairton's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.8 points per game. As for Frazier, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Clairton will head out on the road to face off against Jeannette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jeannette and Clairton are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Frazier, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northgate at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northgate comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
