Basketball Recap: Lancaster Christian Academy Knights vs. Franklin Road Christian Minutemen

The Lancaster Christian Academy Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 51-13 loss at the hands of Franklin Road Christian. While losing is never fun, Lancaster Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 389th, while the Minutemen are ranked 181st).

Gracie Tidwell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Franklin Road Christian, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Tidwell hasn't dropped below three steals for 13 straight games. Another player making a difference was Bryleigh Dempsey, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Lancaster Christian Academy dropped their record down to 2-9 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.6 points per game. As for Franklin Road Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lancaster Christian Academy will face off against the at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin Road Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on February 19th.
