Soccer Game Preview: Monsignor Farrell vs. Archbishop Stepinac

The Monsignor Farrell Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Monsignor Farrell is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

While Monsignor Farrell's win against Fordham Prep wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Rams 2-1.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Archbishop Stepinac's offense. They came up short against St. Francis Prep back in September, falling 4-0. Archbishop Stepinac haven't had much luck with St. Francis Prep recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Archbishop Stepinac now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Monsignor Farrell, their win bumped their record up to 9-3-1.

Monsignor Farrell beat Archbishop Stepinac by a goal in their previous matchup back in September, winning 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
