Basketball Recap: Lovell Takes a Loss

If Lovell was feeling good fresh off their 47-23 takedown of Worland last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lovell Bulldogs fell just short of the Lyman Eagles by a score of 40-37 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 28-27 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Lyman had a senior duo take command as Payton Anderson went 6-for-8 on her way to 12 points and seven rebounds and Anna France went 5-for-7 en route to 13 points and three steals. What's more, France also posted a 71% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Addison Smith was another key player, putting up eight points.

Lovell's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Lyman, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.

Lovell has already played their next matchup (against Mountain View), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Lyman, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 42-25 victory against Worland on the 22nd.
