Eastern came tearing into Thursday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Woodson Warriors a 30-0 shutout. Considering the Ramblers have won five matchups by more than 29 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Eastern got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeremiah Hubbard out in front who threw for 70 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one TD on the ground. The Ramblers also got a significant boost from TayRon Burwell, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 96 yards.

Eastern didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Woodson to a completion percentage of just 35.3%. The team can thank Jamel Howe for the heroic effort on defense: he. Eastern wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 50%.

Eastern didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Zion Hubbard and Howe. Eastern received some extra help from Dylan Sydney, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Eastern's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Woodson, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-6.

Coincidentally, Eastern and Woodson will both be playing Dunbar the next time they take the field. The Warriors will head out to face the Crimson Tide at 6:00 p.m. on the 31st, while the Ramblers will host them at 6:00 p.m. on November 6.
