Baseball Game Preview: Valley Patriots vs. Claude Mustangs

For the second straight game, Valley will face off against Claude. Valley will welcome Claude at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Valley is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 18-8 to Claude.

For Claude's part, Brian Campbell made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Campbell a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with six RBI, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those stolen bases were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Brady Shelton was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Korbin Jackson, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Claude's win bumped their record up to 3-7-1. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
