Volleyball Recap: Cordova Comes Up Short

If Cordova was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Tarrant on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Hayden Wildcats by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Cordova saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lexee King had 20 assists and three aces. King is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 20 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Chloe Watts was the offensive standout of the match as she had seven kills and two aces.

Cordova's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Hayden, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Cordova and Hayden will both be playing Good Hope the next time they take the court. The Blue Devils will head out to face the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
