Football Recap: Cocoa Beach Comes Up Short

Cocoa Beach extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-6. They took a blow against the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers, falling 41-10. The Minutemen lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 14-12 score last time.

Remy Vigne threw for 225 yards and one TD. Arturo Stanley was his top target, picking up 57 receiving yards. On the ground, Ryan Rogers rushed for 60 yards.

As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Considering they have won four games by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy had a senior duo take command as Rico Buitrago threw for 219 yards and a pair of touchdowns and JORDAN OSBORNE rushed for 119 yards on only 12 carries. Buitrago's passing game has become a key predictor of the Tigers' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.

Coming up, Cocoa Beach will head out on the road to take on Foundation Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions' defense has only allowed 14.5 points per game this season, so the Minutemen's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oxbridge Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the ThunderWolves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 48.63 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
