Baseball Recap: Countryside Finds Playoff Glory Versus Seminole

It's playoff time, and Countryside had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Seminole Warhawks get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Monday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 3-2 victory back in March.

Not much got past Cody Hollenbeck, who gave up just four hits to keep Seminole off the board. Hollenbeck has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Countryside's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Trent King, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases King has posted since back in February. Brody Sadlowski was another, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Countryside is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Seminole, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-7.

Countryside will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warhawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
