Football Recap: Monroe Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Monroe had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-3 to make it six. They were beaten by the Colquitt County Packers 45-10. The Golden Tornadoes were not able to make up for their loss to the Packers from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Keyon Thomas threw for 185 yards and one touchdown. Curtis Ware was his top target, picking up 29 receiving yards.

As for Colquitt County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1. That looming 45-10 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Colquitt County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cohen Lawson led the charge by throwing for 151 yards and three TDs while completing 76.5% of his passes. Those three passing touchdowns gave Lawson a new career-high. Jae Lamar also helped with two scores in total.

Monroe has already played their next matchup, a 53-6 victory against Pelham on the 19th. As for Colquitt County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 31-19 win against Rickards on the 19th.
