Marcus Mitchell of Flagler Palm Coast is the Florida High School Football Player of the Week

Junior running back was dominant in win over Mantanzas.

After receiving more than 33,000 votes, Marcus Mitchell of Flagler Palm Coast (Palm Coast) is the MaxPreps Florida High School Football Player of the Week.

In a 28-9 win over Mantanzas (Palm Coast), Mitchell rushed 25 times for 288 yards and four touchdowns. The 5-foot-8, 225-pound senior running back has over 500 yards on the season.

Here are the rest of this week's candidates, who collectively garnered more than 37,000 votes:

Battle Alberson, Gulf Breeze: Senior quarterback completed 30 of 42 passes for 463 yards and eight touchdowns while carrying six times for 97 yards and an additional score in a 73-42 victory over Milton.

Clay Ash, IMG Academy White (Bradenton): Senior running back ran for 346 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries in a 62-27 victory over Evangelical Christian (Fort Myers).

Kaden Boddie, Pine Ridge (Deltona): Junior running back ran for 298 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries in a 28-22 triumph over The First Academy (Orlando).

Chase Cromartie, Viera: Junior quarterback connected on 32 of 38 pass attempts for 358 yards and four touchdowns while also carrying six times for 57 yards and a score in a 53-7 victory over Melbourne Central Catholic (Melbourne).



Jeff Jones, St. Petersburg: Junior quarterback completed 10 of 14 passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns while carrying 16 times for 337 yards and three additional scores in a 42-14 win against Osceola (Seminole).

Luke Knight, Wiregrass Ranch (Wesley Chapel): Senior quarterback connected on 18 of 27 pass attempts for 366 yards and five total touchdowns in a 55-34 win against Mitchell (New Port Richey).

Jackson Latour, Oviedo: Senior signal caller completed 19 of 27 pass attempts for 378 yards and five total touchdowns in a 42-35 victory over Heritage (Palm Bay).

Sabby Meassick, Tohopekaliga (Kissimmee): Sophomore signal caller connected on 44 of 53 pass attempts for 485 yards and six touchdowns in a 41-19 victory over St. Cloud.
