Baseball Recap: St. James Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for St. James's offense. They came up short against the West Forsyth Titans on Tuesday, falling 8-0. The Sharks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

St. James got a good showing from Frank Pepe, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Furthermore, Pepe didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

St. James is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only three runs. As for West Forsyth, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.

St. James has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Wando on the 14th. As for West Forsyth, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 11-6 win against Waccamaw on the 12th.
