Softball Recap: Mitchell Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Mitchell ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Tea Titans 15-13. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Kernels' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Kinsley Herges was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Amick, who went 1-for-5 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mitchell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Mitchell's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-11. As for Tea, they dropped their record down to 6-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Mitchell nor the Titans have any future games scheduled.
