Baseball Recap: Lakeside Has No Trouble Against Riverside

Lakeside had won three straight at home, but on Tuesday they bumped their record up to 7-7 to make it four. Everything went their way against the Riverside Rams as they made off with an 11-1 win. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Kannon Almond and Jonah Starr did most of the damage at the plate: Almond went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Starr went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. Lakeside is 5-2 when Starr posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Mason Thomas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Lakeside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

As for Riverside, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

On Riverside's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cody Wilson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. That RBI was Wilson's first of the season.
