Softball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

The Springfield Blue Devils came up short against the Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets on Saturday and fell 6-2.

Springfield now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Mt. Vernon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Springfield will take on River Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Blue Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mt. Vernon, they will face off against Zanesville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
