Crisp County falls despite strong effort from Miranda Moore

Recap: Crisp County Cougars vs. Worth County Rams

This season hasn't been kind to the Crisp County Cougars, who are still winless after their fourth game. They received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 52-34 to Worth County. Crisp County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Worth County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

When it comes to explaining why Crisp County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Miranda Moore. Despite the final result, she scored seven points along with 26 rebounds and five blocks. Moore set a new season high mark in steals with four. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadashia Glover, who scored 11 points.

Even though they lost, Crisp County were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Worth County found their leader in underclassman Jariah Williams, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her. Breonna Jackson was another key contributor, scoring six points.

Crisp County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Worth County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Crisp County will head out on the road to face off against Dooly County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dooly County is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Worth County, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Colquitt County at 6:00 p.m. Colquitt County will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
