Preview: Platte Canyon Huskies vs. Conifer Lobos
Platte Canyon has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Conifer Lobos at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Platte Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday.
Even though Platte Canyon has not done well against Clear Creek recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Platte Canyon enjoyed a cozy 32-14 win over Clear Creek.
Among those leading the charge was Ily Hardey, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Caylie Lewis was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 4 steals.
Meanwhile, Conifer suffered a rough 52-32 defeat at the hands of Northglenn on Thursday.
Despite the loss, Conifer saw an underclassman step up: Megan Swearengin scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Eleanor Sikora, who scored 6 points.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Platte Canyon's victory pushed their record up to 2-0, while Clear Creek's loss dropped theirs down to 0-2.
Platte Canyon strolled past Conifer in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 31-16. Does Platte Canyon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Conifer turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
