Football Recap: Fairview Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Something's probably wrong if your team accumulates more yards in penalties than offense, a fact Fairview just learned the hard way. They were dealt a 56-0 defeat at the hands of the Oil City Oilers on Friday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

Oil City was led to victory by Steven Heise and Spence Singleton. Heise rushed for 130 yards and one touchdown, while Singleton picked up 40 receiving yards and one TD. Those 40 receiving yards gave Singleton a new career-high.

Fairview is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. As for Oil City, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairview will head out to square off against Seneca at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oil City, they will venture away from home to take on Grove City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That match will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Heise and Gavin Purdy.
