Baseball Game Preview: Catholic Bears vs. Thibodaux Tigers

The Catholic Bears will take on the Thibodaux Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Catholic will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

On Friday, Catholic got the win against Thibodaux by a conclusive 9-2. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won four games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Catholic got a great performance from Mills Richardson as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave Richardson a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Ruckert, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Andrew Clapinski, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Catholic's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs over those games. As for Thibodaux, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
