Basketball Game Preview: Crossland Cavaliers vs. Parkdale Panthers

The Crossland Cavaliers just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Parkdale Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Crossland is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Oxon Hill just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the Clippers, falling 54-33. The contest marked the Cavaliers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Parkdale came up short against Suitland last Thursday and fell 64-52. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Crossland will need focus on slowing down Tavonte Martin, one of several Parkdale players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Martin has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Wilson, who posted nine points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Parkdale was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Crossland's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Parkdale, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Crossland skirted past Parkdale 51-49 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Will Crossland repeat their success, or does Parkdale have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
