Soccer Recap: Bluefield Comes Up Short

Bluefield came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 5-0 to the Princeton Tigers. While losing is never fun, Bluefield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Princeton are ranked 17th).

Bluefield's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8-1. As for Princeton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4-2.

Looking ahead, Bluefield will take on Sherman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bluefield's defense better be ready for this one: Sherman have averaged an impressive 4.1 goals per game this season. As for Princeton, they are taking a road trip to take on South Charleston at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
