Deer Valley barely beat Thunderbird the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Skyhawks were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Titans on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Skyhawks, who have now won six matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Hunter Metz was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2024. Hunter Short was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Deer Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .528 or higher in three consecutive games.

Deer Valley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-8-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Thunderbird, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Deer Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Estrella Foothills on the 2nd. As for Thunderbird, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-3 victory against Goldwater on the 2nd.
