Football Recap: Marion County Comes Up Short on the Road Against Hawkinsville + How To Watch

Marion County had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Hawkinsville Red Devils, falling 41-18. The Eagles have struggled against the Red Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Marion County lost, don't look at Dayvion Crawford. Despite the final result, he rushed for 124 yards and two TDs.

Hawkinsville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Martin Mcdonald, who rushed for 124 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries. Those 124 rushing yards gave Mcdonald a new career-high. Sebastian Clark was another key player, throwing for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only nine passes.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marion County will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on First Presbyterian Day at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hawkinsville, they will square off against Schley County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
