Basketball Recap: Britain Jones and RJ Tate Secure Win for Arlington

It was a proper cat-fight when Arlington challenged Winter Park on Saturday. It was close, but the Arlington Tigers capped 2024 with a 46-43 victory over the Winter Park Wildcats. The 46-point effort marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Leading Arlington to victory were RJ Tate and Britain Jones. Tate went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and six rebounds, while Jones went 5 of 7 on his way to 15 points. The matchup was Tate's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rod Lucas, who posted eight points along with six rebounds and five assists.

The win made it two in a row for Arlington and bumps their season record up to 10-2. As for Winter Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Arlington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-40 loss against Fayetteville on the 30th. Winter Park has also already played their next game, a 60-54 victory against North Forsyth on the 30th.
