Landon had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Episcopal Maroon. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-4 on Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Ben Pollack, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Alex Ross was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Landon pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Episcopal, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Landon will venture away from home to square off against Gilman at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bears are facing the Greyhounds at the right time seeing as the Greyhounds are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Episcopal, they will head out on the road to face off against Saint John Paul the Great Catholic at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
