Basketball Recap: Valley Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Valley Christian Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Victory Baptist on Thursday. The Valley Christian Academy Lions fell 58-46 to the Victory Baptist Warrior. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1025th in California, while the Warrior are ranked 399th in Georgia).

Victory Baptist's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eric Banks Jr led the charge by going 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points. Isaiah Davis was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Valley Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Victory Baptist, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

Valley Christian Academy will face off against Coastal Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Victory Baptist, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Front Range Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
