Volleyball Recap: Holgate Comes Up Short

Holgate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Edon Bombers. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bombers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Holgate was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Edon's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16, 25-23.

Anna Bower paced Holgate's offense, picking up nine kills. Bower got some help from Tatum Stollings and her 11 assists. Sylee Leaders controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Ella Osborn was the offensive standout of the contest as she had eight digs and four aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September of 2024.

Holgate's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Edon, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-4.

Holgate wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Patrick Henry on the 6th. As for Edon, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Liberty Center on the 4th.
