Baseball Recap: Marion Center Takes a Loss

Marion Center extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-14 in the process. They lost 8-0 to the Homer-Center Wildcats. If the Stingers were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Homer-Center, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games.

For Homer-Center's part, the team relied heavily on Nash Budner, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Budner has posted since back in April. Drew Fisher was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

While Marion Center had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
