Basketball Game Preview: Central Jaguars vs. Jay Royals

Central and Jay are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Central Jaguars will face off against the Jay Royals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Central faced off against Paxton on Friday. Central took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Paxton.

Central might have lost, but man, Autumn Boutwell was a machine: she went 9 of 21 on her way to 25 points and three steals. The matchup was Boutwell's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Lakin Mathews was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Jay earned a 44-34 victory over Ponce De Leon on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Royals.

Jay is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.

Central might still be hurting after the 73-48 loss they got from Jay when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
