Soccer Game Preview: Vance Charter vs. Hobbton

The Vance Charter Knights will challenge the Hobbton Wildcats on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Vance Charter is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand Pender a 9-0 shutout. Give Vance Charter's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

They hit Pender with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Katherine Suther (3), Anna Lloyd (3), Jillian Reavis (2), and Kinsley Wilcher.

Meanwhile, Hobbton waltzed into their match on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Flying Lions as they made off with a 5-0 victory.

Hobbton pushed their record up to 13-7-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those six contests. As for Vance Charter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Vance Charter couldn't quite get it done against Hobbton when the teams last played back in May of 2022 as they fell 2-0. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
