Preview: Suncoast Chargers vs. Glades Central Raiders
Suncoast is 0-2 against Glades Central since September of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Suncoast Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Glades Central Raiders at 6:30 p.m. Suncoast is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-7, which was the final score in Suncoast's tilt against King's Academy on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Suncoast can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 511th, while King's Academy is ranked 123rd).
Meanwhile, Glades Central had to endure a seven-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They slipped by Inlet Grove 7-6 on Thursday.
Glades Central's victory bumped their season record to 1-5 while Suncoast's loss dropped theirs to 1-6.
Suncoast was dealt a bruising 42-6 loss at the hands of Glades Central when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Suncoast, Kienaskia Workman (who rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
