Recap: Chaparral Bobcats vs. University Trojans
The Chaparral Bobcats lost against the University Trojans back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Chaparral received a tough blow as they fell 65-46 to University. While losing is never fun, Chaparral can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while University is ranked 44th).
Despite the loss, Chaparral still got an impressive performance from CJ Norwood, who scored 25 points. The game was Norwood's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Chaparral has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-13 record this season. As for University, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Chaparral will challenge Waco at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for University, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Shoemaker at 7:00 p.m. Shoemaker knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully University likes a good challenge.
